Course Objective:

This programme has been designed to provide the social care sector with higher-level skilled workers and to support succession planning and progression for leaders and managers within the health and social care sector.

Pathway 1: Advanced Practitioner in Health & Social Care This pathway is for managers who hold at least a level 3 grade role. They will have substantial sector experience and assist with succession planning for managers in their workplace.

Pathway 2: Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care This pathway is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with adults in non-residential settings or services whose main purpose is adults’ care and support. They will have substantial sector experience and be looking to progress and assist with succession planning for managers in their workplace.

Pathway 3: Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Adults Residential Management) This pathway is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with adults in a residential setting whose main purpose is adult care and support.

 

Course Delivery:

An assessor will visit the learner at their workplace once a month for a minimum of 2 hours. In addition to this, the Assessor will observe the learner in their work setting which will be planned. To complete this qualification a portfolio of workplace evidence has to be completed. The evidence can be from observations, professional discussions, product evidence, case studies and witness statements.

Learner will need to show study ,research and reporting of 4 hours per week

Pathway 1 & 2: Advanced Practitioner in Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care

To achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Adults’ Management), the learner must achieve a minimum of 90 credits. This will comprise of 53 credits from mandatory units as well as 37 credits from optional units which will depend on the learner’s job role and will be discussed with the assessor.

Pathway 3: Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Residential Management)

To achieve this diploma, the learner must achieve a minimum of 90 credits. This will comprise of 52 credits from mandatory units as well as 38 credits from optional units which will depend on the learner’s job role and will be discussed with the assessor.
